AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF THE STREETS AND
ALLEYS DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE EXHIBITS ATTACHED, AND
DECLARING AND EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CIN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Council by the Urban Renewal
Agency of the City of Georgetown with respect to certain properties situated in the
Urban Renewal Project, Tex R-102, South San Gabriel; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Plan for this portion of the City of Georgetown calls
for development of the lands in the Urban Renewal Project, and that in order for such
development to proceed, it is necessary to vacate and abandon such portions of the streets,
and alleys described in the exhibits attached hereto; now therefore be it
ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O F THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, that the portions of streets and alleys described in the exhibits hereto attached,
be and the same are hereby vacated, closed and abandoned.
AND, WHEREAS, in order to aoid a thirty days delay in making the Ids out
of such property available for the construction of residences thereon, and it being repre-
sented to the City Council of the City of Georgetown by the Chairman and Secretary
of the Urban Renewal Agency that there is a need for making such lots available for
redevelopment in the Urban Renewal Project Area, it is declared that there is an emer-
gency for this ordinance to be apssed on First Reading, and the same is so passed on
First Reading, the Second Reading being dispensed with for the reasons set forth herein.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of November 1978.
