HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 78-19 - I35 to HWY 81ORDINANCE NO. 78-19 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONI.NG ORDINANCE" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP, AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF THE MAP OF THE OR- IGINAL ORDINANCE: TO CHANGE THE PROPERTY LOCATED ON FM 2243 BETW- EEN IH 35 AND U.S. HWY 81, ACCORDING TO THE MAP THEREOF FROM "RS" RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY TO "I" INDUSTRIAL AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI TY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the zoning ordinance on the following described real estate: BEING a 4.64 acre tract of land situated in the Clement Stubblefield Survey, Abstract No. 557 in the Williamson County, Texas, and being a part of that certain 6.63 acre tract conveyed by deed to the Industrial Corporation of Georgetown, as recorded in Volume 602, Page 702, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground in the month of December, 1977, by R. T. Magness, Jr., Registered Professional Engineer, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at an iron pin set in the South line of said 6.63 acre tract for the S. W. corner hereof; said corner being S 88019'E, 197.43 feet from an iron pin found marking the S. W. corner of said 6.63 acre tract; THENCE S 88019'E, 429.80 feet with said South line to an iron pin set for the S. E. corner hereof; THENCE N 0026'E, 581.93 feet with existing fence line to an iron pin found in the South line of Farm -to -Marker Road No. 2243 for the N. E. corner hereof; said South line of Farm -to -Market Road No. 2243 being curved to the left and having a radius of 1870.08 feet; THENCE with said South line of Farm -to -Market Road No. 2243 around said curve to the left, having a long chord of 311.06 feet bearing S 75021'30"W, and an arc distance of 311.42 feet to a concrete monument marking the end of said curve; THENCE continuing with said South line of Farm -to -Market Road No. 2243, S 70044'W, 35.14 feet to an iron pin set, for the N. W. corner hereof; THENCE S 11046W, 489.39 feet to the place of BEGINNING and containing 4.64 acres of land. AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changeing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "RS" Residential Single Family to "I" Industrial, which said meeting was held on the 2nd day of Mcy,. 1978; and WHEREAS, the City Council, before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinace, gave notice of such hearing by publishing same one time in the WILLIAMSON COUNTY SUN, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which notice stated the time and place of hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen days from the first day of such publication; and - - WHEREAS, written notice was given to all of the owners of the lots within 200 feet of the above described property as required by law; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance, said approval being given by said Commission on May 2, 1978; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of George- town, be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed "RS" Residential Single Family to "I", Industrial. Read, Passed, and adopted by 4 votes Aye, and 0 votes Nay, this the 9th day of May, 1978, on first reading. E. corner hereof; THENCE S 70044'W, 108.23 feet with said South line to an iron pin set for the N. W. corner hereof; THENCE S 11046'W, 450.09 feet to the place of BEGINNING and containing 1.00 acre of land. TRACT TWO BEING a 1.00 acre tract of land situated in the Clement Sutbblefield Survey, Abstract No. 558, Williamson County, Texas, and being a part of that certain 6.63 acre tract conveyed by deed to the Industrial Corporation of Georgetown, as recorded in Volume 602, Page 702, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. W. corner hereof, said corner being at the intersection with the said East line ofthe George- town Railroad right of way; THENCE S 11046W, 407.02 feet with said East line to the place of BEGINNING and CONTAINING 1.00 acre of land. Doerfler, Payor RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACTION GRANT FUNDS AND TO EXECUTE THE PROGRAM WHEN APPROVED. WHEREAS, the Department of Ho using and Urban Development is authorized to make Urban Development Action Grants to those cities which meet the necessary requirements; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas has been determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to be eligible for an Urban Development Action Grant. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas authorizes the mayor to submit an application for an Urban Development Action Grant and to execute the program if received. Harry Gold, Mayor Pro -Tem ATTEST: Cr: 00 GL: � City Secretary RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TO EXECUTE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY AND CITY OF GEORGETOWN AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, heretofore the City of Georgetown and Lower Colorado River Authority entered into a certain agreement dated June 25, 1974; and, WHEREAS, there are certain changes necessary and appropriate related to the contract load (KW) year ending June 25, 1977, and the estimated contract foods for the five-year period ending June 25, 1983, as reflected on the attached and annexed Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof and for all purposes; and, WHEREAS, the aforesaid changes are the result of forecasts made by the Lower Colorado River Authority Engineering Department; and, WHEREAS, these estimates effect the billing by said Authority to the City of Gae rgetown at the various points of delivery set forth in said contract; and, WHEREAS, the parties to said agreement, Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Georgetown, Texas, have agreed to amend the aforesaid contract dated June 25, 1974, by substituting the Exhibit attached to the contract dated June 25, 1974: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown be and he is hereby authorized to execute the aforesaid substituted Exhibit A so that same shall be and become a part of the contract dated June 25, 1974.
