ORDINANCE NO. 78-9
AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING CURRENT BUILDING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL,
AND ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES AND ESTABLISHING NEW FEES.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, has adopted by ordinance Building, Plumbing,
Mechanical and Electrical Codes and,
WHEREAS, these coes do not establish Permit fees but indicate that these fees will be
established by the authority having jurisdiction and,
WHEREAS, each Code requires the issuance of permits and certificates, performance of
inspections and maintenance of records and,
WHEREAS, the currently established Permit Fees are insufficient to meet inspection and
administrative cosh,
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY the City Council of the City of Georgetown that
the following permit fees shall be in effect. All ordinances and resolutions inconflict
are hereby rescinded.
Part I
Schedule of Building Permit Fees
(a) Permit Fees
Total Valuation
$100.00 and less
$101.00 to $2,000.00
$2,001.00 to $15,000.00
$15,001.00 to $50,000.00
$50,001.00 to $100,000.00
$100,000.00 to $500,000.00
$500,001.00 and up
(b) Moving of Building or Structures
Fee
No fee, unless inspection required, in which case
a $3.00 fee for each inspection shall be charged.
$3.00 per thousand or fraction thereof.
$6.00 for the first $2,000.00 plus $2.10 for each
additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and
including $15,000.00.
$33.30 for the first $15,000.00 plus $1.50 for each
additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and
including $50,000.00,
$85.80 for the first $50,000.00 plus $1.00 for
each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to
and including $100,000.00.
$135.80 for the first $100,000.00 plus $.75 for each
additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and
including $500,000.00.
$435.80 for the first $500,000.00 plus $.50 for
each additional thousand or fraction thereof.
For the moving of any building or structure, the fee shot l be $50.00.-
(c)
50.00.
(c) Demolition of Building or Structures
For the demolition of any building or structure, the fee shall be $15.00.
(d) Where work for which a permit is required by this Code is started or proceeded with
prior to obtaining said permit, the fees herein specified shall be doubled, but the pay-
ment of such double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the re-
quirements of this Code in the execution of the work nor form any other penalties pres-
cribed herein.
(e) Plan -Checking Fees

When the valuation of the proposed construction exceeds $1,000.00 and a plan is required
to be submitted by Section105.3, a plan -checking fee shall be paid to the Building Official
at the time of submitting plans and specifications for checking. Said plan -checking fee
shall be equal to one-half of the building permit fee as set forthin Section 107.4.

Re -Inspection Fees
Where Contractor requests an inspection and the job fails inspection, a re -inspection
Fee of $5.00 is authorized.
