HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 78-10 - Utility Rates2109 ORDINANCE NO. 78-10 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN AORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR RATES AND CHARGES FOR SALES MADE AND SERVICES RENDERED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ELECTRIC," WATER, WASTEWATER AND GARBAGE SYSTEMS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN BY AMENDING SECTION II WHICH PROVIDES FOR UTILITY DEPOSITS ON DWELLING UNITS OCCUPIED BY PERSONS OTHER THAN ITS OWNER. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that Section II of the Utility Rate Ordinance enacted by the City of Georgetown on the 8th day of February, 1977, is hereby rescinded and in lieu thereof it is further Ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that Section II shall hereafter read as follows: SECTION 11. That there shall be a $50.00 Utility Deposit required on each dwelling unit not occupied by its owner. All commercial establishments shall be required to post a Utility Deposit equal to at least twice the average monthly bill of that establishment or a similar establishment of its kind. The minimum commercial deposit shall be not less than $100.00. "Those portions of said Ordinance not mentioned nor affected by this Amendment shall remain in full force and effect. If any paragraph, clause, phrase or other part of this amendment should for any reason be held invalid, such invalidity shall not effect the remaining provisions of this Amendment and to this end the various provisions of this Amendment are hereby declared to be severable."
