HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 80-17 - Rates for Sale of WaterAN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING AND FIXING RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE SALE OF WATER BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, an ordinance was passed and approved on the 22nd day of October, 1979, which established rates and charges for the sale of water by the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown considers the maintenance of which requires the use of water to be necessary and beneficial; and Co WHEREAS, a reduction in the rate and charges for water by the City of CD Georgetown during the billing periods of July, 1980 and August, 1980 would Iq facilitate such property maintenance; now therefore 0 Q BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGE- TOWN, TEXAS: Section 1. The monthly rates and charges for the sale of water by the City of Georgetown, Texas during the established billing periods of July, 1980 and August, 1980 shall be as follows: Monthly Water Use Gallons First 2,000 A I I over 2,000 Rate per 1,000 gallons, Inside City Outside City $2.50 $10.00 .825 Section 2. This ordinance shall only apply to water sold during those periods covered during the established billing periods of July, 1980 and August, 1980. All water sold before and after said billing periods shall be at the rates and charges established by Ordinance Number 79-42 which was passed and approved October 22, 1979. Section 3. The urgent need for prescribing appropriate adjustments in the rates and charges described above creates an emergency for the preservation of order, health, safety, and general welfare for the public that requires this ordinance to become effective from the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of Georgetown, Texas. READ, PASSED, AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas on first reading as an emergency this 8th day of July, 1980. �,L c. La, hn C.
