12TH ST. IN THE CITY OF DEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND AGAINS': :HE'
O'ANRRS OF SUCH PROPNR:CY, PROVIDING METHOD OF ENFORCING PAY -
IT NS,THECESSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES, AND COLLECTIONS OF COSTS
AND ATTOR NEY I S FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN,TEXAS:-
Sec.l. That the Assessments hereinafter set out,
be and they are hereby madd Against the abutting property
and the owners thereof for the improvements to be made on
and along the following streets in the City of Georgetown,
Texas, to -wit:
On 8th St.from Timber St.East to V.K.& T Track; On Main St.
frcm 3rd St.South to Glasscock Ave or 15th St. On 7th St.
Iveit Timber at. East to M.K.& T.Ry.on Buushy St from South
Gabriel bridge South to M.K.& T.Track of Switch and the
Entire length of 12th St.
Section 2. That the assessments herein made are
for building and preparing the Streets for t"ne trout me rt, anti
for the treatment of oil and asphalt upon the streets herein,
above set out in Section 1.
Sso.3: That the assessments herein made against
abutting property and theownere hereof,are heresy made a
lien against such property and a personal obligation against
the owners of such property, same to be enforceable in the
Court of competent juriseiction,such lien to be the first
enforceable claim against which it is assessed., superior to
all other claims or liene,except state, county and municipal
taxes, except that no lien is undertaken here to be fixed
against property exempt by the laws of this State from sale
under execution, but in such event the owners of such proper-
ty shall not be exempt from personal liability for the cost
of such izrprovement constructed in front of their property
which may be assessed against them.

See.4. That the assessment herein made are to be
due and payable as follows., One-third in cash at comple-
tion of work, 1/3 three months thereafter, and remaining
1/3 six months thereafter. All deferred pafinents to bear
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from the
date of said completion of work, provide4 that such deferred
payments may be made at any time before maturity, by payr:ent
of the Principal and accrijed interest.
S ec.5. It is further ordained that the following
assessments be and they are hereby* made arainst the abutting
property owners for the improvements hereinabove set out in
bections 1 and 2 hereof, as follows:- Colurn 1 setting out
the name of such abutting property, column 2 setting out
the description of theproperty and column 3 setting out the
ariount of assessment here made against said piece of proper.

See. 6. That the City Council shall cause to be
iss,.ed in the name of the City assignable certificates,
decl9ring the liability of such owners and their property
apai nat whom such assessments has been made, said certifi»
cater to recite that the proceedings with reference to the
making such i mprovemnts as hereinafter set forth have been
regularly had in compliance with the law and that all pre.
requisites to the fixing of assessments and lien against
th.eproperty described and thepersonal liability have been
complied with and said certificates shall be for the amount
due by the respective owners and fixed as a lien against
their property and to be payable at the time respective
amounts due on such assessments against such respective
owners and their property ars due under taia+ ordiaeance,and
to draw tide same rate of interest as is provided in this
ordiaance on all deferred payXments on such assessments,
and also provided that if it becomes necessary to force
their collection at lave, there shall, in addition to their
face value, ue due on them reasonable attorney's fees for
their collection; if incurred, shall become due and payable
and be enforceable in the same manner as the assessment.
See.?. That the rules of this Council requiring
all ordinances to be read at three several meetings,be and
the saire are hereby suspended and this ordinances shall
take effect imrediately upon its passage and approval by
the Z`ayor and publication
