question of the Adoption or Rejection of Articles 1006 to
1017, inclusive, Chapter 11, Title 22, Revised Civil Statutes
19116 to vote of the resident property tax payers who are
qualified voters of Georgetown, Texas:
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of
Georg town, Texas:
That it is hereby ordered that an election be held in
said City on the 3rd day of April, A. D.1917, seine being the
first Tuesday in April, A.O.1917, for the purpose of submit-
ting the adoption or rejection of articles 1006 to 1017 in-
clusive and empowering towns, cities and villages, incorpor-
ated under the general or special law, by accepting the bene-
fits of such Chapter 11, Title 22 to improve any street,
avenue,alley, highway or public place or square, or any por-
tion thereof, within their limits, by filling, grading,rais-
Ing, paving, or repairing the same in a permanent manner,
providing for the assessments for cost of construction and
for notice and hearing before assessment; that said elec-
tion be held in the City Hall in said. City; that said elec-
tion be held in accordance with Art.1016, Chap.11, Title 22,
R.C.S.1911, that only reii'deht, qualified tax paying voters
in said City shall be entitled to vote in said election; that
each voter favoring the adoption of such Articles 1006 to
1017 inclusive, and the provisions thereof, shall hove writ-
ten or printed on his ballot, "For the Adoption of Articles
1008 to 1017 inclusive, Chapter 11, Title 22, Revised Civil
Statutes,1911," and those opposing the adoption of said chap-
ter shall have written or printed on their ballots - "against
the adoration of Articles 1006 - 1017 inclusive, Chapter 119
Title 22, Revised Civil Statutes 1911; "- and if a majority
of the voters voting upon the question of the adoption of
such chapter at such election, shall vote to adopt the same,
the result of such election shall by the City Council of the
City of Georgetown,Texas, be entered upon its minutes and
thereupon all teams and provisions of such chapter shall be
applicable to and govern the city of Georgetown; that said
election shall be held in accordance %rith the provisions of
the election laws of the State of Texas, pertaining to. regu-
lar city elections in this City; that W,I.Stump and Mutton L,
Foster be, and they are hereby, appointed judges of said
election, and the said W.I . Stump is hereby designated as pre-
siding judge at said election.

The Mayor of said City is hereby directed to give
notice of said election by posting up at the door of the
place where said election is hereinbefore designated to be
held for at least twenty (20) drys before the darn of said
election, a copy of this ordinance signed by himaelf and
attested by the City ,3e--retary, and by causing the same to
be published once a week for three weeks successively next
before the day of said election, in some newspaper pub-
lished in the said City of Georgetown, Texas,
