AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH RULES AND REGULATIONS TO IMPROVE
PUBLIC SAFETY BY PROMOTING THE CONTROL OF FIRE HAZARDS, REGUL-
ATING THE INSTALLATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE .OF EQUIPMENT,
REGULATING THE USE OF STRUCTURES, PREMISES AND OPEN AREAS IN
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT OF
FIRE HAZARDS: ESTABLISHING THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROCEDURES FOR
ENFORCEMENT: SETTING FOR STANDARDS FOR COMPLIANCE: PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1. The Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1976 Edition, three (3) copies of which
are on file in the Office of the Clerk, is hereby adopted by reference, and incorporated .
as if set out fully herein.
Section 2. In any section, subsection, sentence, clause, provision, or part of this ordin-
ance, shall be held invalid for any reason, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be
affected thereby but shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. Any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions contained
herein are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its date of passage.
PASSED on the first reading this 14th day of July, 1976 and passed on the second and
final reading this 27th day of July, 1976.
