HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2011-33 - Garbage Collection & DisposalORDINANCE NO. 9O i °3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 13.12 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO GARBAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL; REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown contracts with Texas Disposal Systems for solid waste disposal services; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown wishes to amend its current garbage collection in order to provide additional guidelines regarding the solid waste disposal services provided by the City of Georgetown and Texas Disposal Systems; WHEREAS, the proposed ordinance amends the guidelines for the collection of garbage, refuse, brush and other waste material and the prohibition of the accumulation of waste. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1: The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. SECTION 2: The City Council hereby finds that this Ordinance is consistent with the comprehensive plans of the City. SECTION 3: Chapter 13.12 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit A. SECTION 5: All Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts of Ordinances and Resolutions that are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and no longer in effect. SECTION 6: If any provisions of this Ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or applications thereof, of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
