HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 85-XX-02 - Undated Utilities & ServicesAN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ADOPTED APRIL 30, 1979, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2 3 "UTILITIES AND SERVICES: ARTICLE I, SECTION 2 3-1 (A) CAPTIONED "ELECTRICAL RATES: BY AMENDING SUBSECTION (10) WHICH PROVIDES FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE TAP FEES, WHICH WAS ADOPTED DECEMBER 13, 1983, AND CONTANING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens to establish certain tap fees in connection with electrical service provided by said city; and WHEREAS, it is proper for the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, adopted April 30, 1979, to be amended by adding thereto a section providing electrical tap fees and it is accordingly ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, as follows: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, adopted April 30, 1979, being Chapter 23 styled "Utilities And Services", Article I, Section 2 3-1 (A) is hereby amended by adding thereto the paragraphs as follows: "(10) Electrical tap feest CONNECTION For Single Phase Service Up to and including 200 amp service Service in excess of 200 amp up to 400 amp service For Three Phase Service Up to and including 200 amp service Service in excess of 200 amp up to 400 amp service Service in excess of 400 amp FEE $ 350.00 $ 550.00 $1500.00 $2500.00 cost of materials required for service No electrical connections shall be made until such tap fee is paid." Any provision, section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance, or the application of same to any person or set of -- ---- - -- --- — -_.__ _.__T - - a -_ - — - --X circumstances is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, void, or invalid (or for any reason unenforceable), the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance or this application to other c.L�� Iq e , persons or sets of circumstances shall not be affected thereby, it being the intent of the City Council of the City of Georgetown in adopting this Ordinance that no portion hereof nor provision or regulation contained herein become inoperative or fail by reason of any unconstitutionality or invalidity of any other portion, provision or regulation. The rule requiring the reading of ordinances on two (2) separate days is hereby suspended and this Ordinance shall become effective on this the day of its passage.
