A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING A MULTIPLE USE AGREEMENT (MUA) WITH THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TxDOT) CONCERNING THE
CONSTRUCTION OF AND MAINTENANCE OF TWO (2) FIXED ROUTE BUS
STOPS ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 29 BETWEEN SCENIC DRIVE AND
INTERSTATE 35 AND CONFIRMING THE CITY'S INTENT TO MAINTAIN
THE SIDEWALK AND COMPLY WITH THE TERMS OF THE MUA AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, City Council authorized funding in September 2016 for the design and
construction of multiple fixed route bus stops along State Highway 29 between Scenic Drive
and Interstate 35; and
WHEREAS, the attached Multiple Use Agreement sets out the terms by which TxDOT will
authorize the City to construct two (2) fixed route bus stops along State Highway 29 between
Scenic Drive and Interstate 35.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION TWO. The City Council of the City of Georgetown finds it to be in the best interest of
the citizens of Georgetown to enter into the Multiple Use Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit
"A" made a part hereof and the City has no objection thereto. The City hereby confirms its intent
to maintain the subject sidewalk
SECTION THREE. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this Resolution and the City Secretary
to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION FOUR. This Resolution shall be effective immediately.
PASSED AND APPROVED on the I day of May, 2017.
