Members Present: Kelly Thyssen (Chairperson), Susanne Paclebar, Michael Simpson (Secretary) and Lyle Warden, DVM, Mary Treuter, Micki Rundell Member Absent: Anna Eby Staff Present: Jackie Carey Meeting called to order at 6:03pm by Kelly Thyssen. Regular Session (This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.) 1. Citizens comments — none 2. Consideration and approval of minutes from January 2016 meeting — M Simpson Motion to approve minutes of January 21 meeting made by Susanne Paclebar, econded by Kelly Thyssen, passed by unanimous vote. 3. Presentation of animal services statistical and analytical report for January 2016 — J Carey No major fluctuations of intake and adoptions. No kill shelter status achieved for both dogs and cats. 4. Discussion about Master Plan for the animal shelter — J Carey Shelter Planners of America from Arlington has been contracted for the phase 1 of the Master Plan. The needs assessment is anticipated to complete in 6-8 weeks with a 30-40 page report projecting 25 years. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding the creation of collateral for introduction of the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter to City council and the public — J Carey The Animal Shelter workshop to city council has been rescheduled to May 2016. The Phase 1 Needs Assessment of the Animal Shelter Master Plan should be complete in time to summarize for the council members. The city staff videographer is continuing preparation of video clip for public awareness of animal shelter. A copy of the 2011 Council Workshop was made available for review and will be updated for the 2016 workshop. Additional topics to include 1) No Kill Shelter status achievement, 2) Inevitable Growth in Demand for Services, 3) Kennel Usage Statistics, and 4) Volunteers Contributions.
