ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

Members present: Jack Garey (Vice-Chairperson), Susanne Paclebar, Michael Simpson
(Secretary), Kelly Thyssen (Chairperson), Lyle Warden, Andrea Brown, and Rachel Jonrowe
Staff present: Shawn Gunnin
Meeting called to order at 6:05pm by Shawn Gunnin, chair positon assumed by Kelly Thyssen
upon arrival.
1. Citizen’s comments – visitor Kelly Jameson attended meeting to observe an Advisory
Board meeting as part of the Leadership Georgetown Volunteer program.
2. Motion to approve minutes of March 19 meeting made by Susanne Paclebar, second by
Rachel Jonrowe, passed by unanimous vote.
3. Presentation of animal services statistical and analytical report for March 2015 by Shawn
Gunnin. The Animal Shelter achieved No Kill status for the month of March 2015.
4. Discussion regarding available money for shelter Master Plan updated by Rachel
Jonrowe, No Actions or Motions at this meeting.
5. Discussion regarding researching the addition of grief counseling services to the list of
services that the shelter provides led by Rachel Jonrowe. Clarification was made that it
is not the intent that the shelter offer grief counselling services, but to make information
about such services available to the public via the shelter resources. Michael Simpson
volunteered to conduct research on available pet loss grief counselling services. No
Motion made at this meeting.
6. Discussion regarding the creation of collateral for introduction of the City of Georgetown
Animal Shelter to city staff and the public lead by Michael Simpson. Motion for Advisory
Board members indorsement of goal and participation to create a presentation for
history, role and future plans of the Animal Shelter was made by Michael Simpson,
Seconded by Kelly Thyssen, and passed by unanimous vote.
7. Motion to adjourn made by Michael Simpson, second by Rachel Jonrowe, passed by
unanimous vote.
Meeting adjourned 6:48pm
