HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 120815-Y - Interim City AttorneyRESOLUTION NO. I'X Q 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS RELATING TO APPOINTMENT • AN INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS, pursuant Section 5.06 of the City Charter of the City of Georgetown, the City Council appoints the City Attorney who acts as the legal advisory and attorney of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney serves at the will and pleasure of the City Council and reports to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to appoint an Interim City Attorney; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. SECTION TWO. The City Council hereby appoints Skye Masson, Assistant City Attorney, as the Interim City Attorney. The Interim City Attorney shall have the same authority, powers and duties as the City Attorney pursuant to City Charter, City Ordinances and State law. SECTION THREE. While acting as Interim City Attorney, Skye Masson shall receive a ten percent (10 %) increase in her base salary as additional compensation. When a new City Attorney is appointed, Skye Masson shall return to her position as Assistant City Attorney and receive the SECTION FOUR. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this Resolution and the City Secretary to attest. PASSED AND APPROVED on the '0 day of N 2015.
