revenue equitably to defray the costs of certain city services; and
WHEREAS, the city library facilities provides library services to a user
population and such services are supported by city tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, a user fee for persons who reside outside the city limits and use the
city library services is a reasonable way to distribute the costs for
library services;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, THAT, in accordance with a resolution adopted by the City Council on
August 26, 1986;
Those persons who reside within the City Limits of the City of Georgetown, and
who use the Georgetown Public Library, shall comply with the use procedures as
outlined under the heading of Georgetown City Residents on the attached Borrowers
Card Regulations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that those persons who use the Georgetown Public Library,
and do not reside within the City Limits, shall comply with the use procedures
outlined under the heading of Non -Residents on the attached Borrowers Card

of the City Council of the City of Georgetown was duly adopted by at a meeting

In order to borrow materials for use outside the Georgetown Publig
Library, a borrowers card must be obtained. Regulations for
obtaining borrowers cards are as follows:
Georgetown City Residents
Any adult residing inside the.city limits.of Georgetown may
obtain a first card free of charge upon presentation of
proof of residence. Acceptable proof of residence shall
include any of the following which bear a current address:
1) driver's license
2) personalized check
3) voter's registration card
4) utility receipt
5) others at the discretion of the library director
Children under age 16 may obtain cards.upon signature of an
adult parent or guardian who furnishes the above proof of
residence.
Duplicate cards will be issued to replace lost cards for a fee
of $1.004
Non-residents
Any person not residing within the city limits of Georgetown
may obtain a card upon payment of an annual non-resident
fee. Non-resident fees are not refundable. Thenon-resident
fee schedule is as follows:
Basic Fee
Individual $15.00 (an adult may allow one child to use
his or her card)
Family $25.00 (cards will be provided for an
unlimited number of family members)
Senior Citizen (age 65 or older)
Individual $10.00
Family $15.00
College students $10.00 (college I.D. must be presented)
The non-resident fee may be waived by the library director in
cases of need.
