JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Electric Project Coordinator

SUMMARY: Serves as primary customer contact and coordinates the activities of project designers, construction
coordinators, design consultants, engineering firms, developers, builders and various internal departments for the purpose
of electric service delivery from concept through completion including responsibility for customer design review, cost
recovery tracking and delivery dates. Coordinates special projects, conveyance of as-built information to mapping
technicians, customer invoice status, street light connections and joint use attachments, etc.

subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to,
the following:
Coordinates and provides quality control for new service delivery projects on small developments and single point
of service customers 500 kW and smaller as a liaison between customers and internal departments by working
directly with designers both internal and consultant to relay customer/City needs
Works with the planning team determines with developments initial concept for service delivery identifying special
needs or requirements for requested service types.
Communicates contract terms and customer fees for service delivery by formulating customer invoicing into
proper format with payment status updates to group.
Coordinates and facilitates meetings during the design processes with assistance as required for new service
delivery for the initial review of site plans of proposed developments, gathering of pertinent information for service
delivery and pre-construction and pre-development to ensure that electric distribution issues are resolved
Prepares job packages for field construction and transfers as-built job information when project construction is
complete to system mapping technicians for electric model update and street light connections to utility billing.
Manages the network project folder of all active projects through the steps of service delivery. Once projects
completed and as-built information is received notification to finance to close project number in their data base
Attends monthly planning team and DRC meetings, for the purpose of information conveyance and for the review
of all applications for Conditional Use, Easement vacations, Plats, General Development Plans, and other
applications such as demolition, re-plats, and annexations.
Provides assistance to group for consultant task orders and forecast information to group for the preparation of
the five year Capital Improvement Budget.
Coordinates the pole-count records and reconciles ownership with cable, telephone and third party lessee’s, for
all poles on the system.
Reconciles and records the ownership data with the other utilities and process annual billing requests to lessee.
Facilitates Photo Voltaic applications from permitting and tracks applications through-out the process and
maintains a database for the documentation of locations for use by the control center and the safety of line crews.
Utilizes engineering and design tool to provide customers, upon request, concept design layout for estimate cost
of service delivery.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training and Experience Guidelines
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Electric Power Technology or
closely related field. Six years of full-time electric project management and/or electric distribution construction design
experience. OR Any combination of experience, education, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills,
and abilities.
One additional year of experience may be substituted for 30 semester hours (one year) of the required education with a
maximum substitution of 2 years.
Knowledge of:
Electrical systems and safety
Design, Mapping, and Data Collection Systems
NESC, NEC, OSHA
Project management
Distribution design and construction practices.
Basic surveying.
Skill in:
Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Creative problem solving
Using survey equipment, Trimble GPS Data logger, Automated Electric design software, and AutoCAD and
Milsoft software.
Operating equipment safely; following electrical safety procedures;
Reading electrical hazard warnings on equipment, staking sheets, material sheets, and design documents
Writing technical documents, specifications transmittals, etc.
Performing mathematical calculations to determine depth and distance, voltage and design parameters, cost for
service, return on investment, etc.
Solving technical, safety, and construction problems related to process.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision,
hearing, talking, use of foot controls. The majority of the workday is spent indoors, or outside in non-storm conditions.
There is rarely any exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
