HomeMy WebLinkAboutTennis Center AssistantPage 1 of 1 City of Georgetown JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Tennis Center Assistant Effective Date: 10/01/2012 FLSA Category: Non-Exempt Revision Date: 05/30/2014 SUMMARY: Assists in the general operations at the Tennis Center by providing direct customer service to patrons. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Greets customers, answers phones, makes court reservations, and enforces facility rules. • Responds courteously to inquiries and/or complaints from citizens. • Checks out equipment for use at the tennis center. • Registers participants for lessons/classes; collects fees. • Performs program and membership registration; collects fees. • Sells merchandise in pro shop. • Collects payments, balances cash drawer, and prepares daily cash balance reports. • Completes report forms to include incident, and accident reports. • Opens and closes the Tennis Center; performs preparation duties and routine maintenance. • Participates and assists with special events and programs (evenings and weekends). • Performs first aid as necessary. • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, training and Experience Guidelines High school diploma or equivalent. One year of full-time customer service and cash handling experience. OR Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Tennis knowledge preferred. Knowledge of: • City recreation policies, procedures, rules and regulations. • Effective customer services practices. Skill in: • Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. • Working well with adults and children. • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. • Reading manuals, office memos, and warning labels. • Taking messages and writing reports. • Performing basic math calculations to collect fees and to make change. • Interpreting policies and procedures. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Certified in CPR /First Aid/AED within 6 months of employment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls.
