ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Process books, – compact discs, digital video discs, and kits as they are cataloged. • Recovers books that have old, torn, or dirty covers. • Prepares new spine labels for books with incorrect labels. • Trains volunteers to process books and audiovisual items. • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, training and Experience Guidelines High school diploma or equivalent. OR Any combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Knowledge of: • Library procedures. Skill in: • Working well with your hands. • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with library staff. • Reading information. • Filling out forms; taking messages. • Understanding and implementing oral and writing instructions. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS None PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls. Repetitive hand motions. Some lifting required (25 pounds or less).
