SUMMARY: Provides personalized library services and access to library resources with emphasizes on targeted
populations. Operates the City’s Bookmobile. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of

subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to,
the following:
• Coordinates, manages, and schedules outreach library services to seniors, residents with disabilities or limited transportation, and children from families below the poverty line; provides service to anyone with a valid
Georgetown Public Library card.
• Drives, operates and schedules maintenance of the library’s bookmobile.
• Evaluates library outreach policies and procedures; proposes revisions to policies and procedures, as needed;
ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
• Selects library materials for the bookmobile.
• Assists Library Director in annual budget preparation process.
• Assists Children’s Services Coordinator in preparing outreach services to children from families below the poverty
line during the summer months.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training and Experience Guidelines Master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university with major coursework in Library
and Information Science. Two years of full-time professional library experience. OR Equivalent combination of education and experience equivalent to an MLS.

• Reference tools, with experience using both printed and automated products.
• Library classification and reference systems.
• Methods, policies, practices, principles, and procedures of professional library work.
• Library services, programs, research, and resources specific to area of assignment.
• Educational, developmental, and interests’ levels of different populations served.
• Customer service methods and techniques.
• City policies and procedures.
• Library information technology.
• Federal, state, and City rules and procedures.
• Supervisory, management and leadership techniques and practices.
Skill in:
• Designing, directing, coordinating, planning and administering a city library program.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Using computers and related equipment, hardware and software.
• Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Planning and implementing departmental procedures and objectives.
• Effectively supervising and delegating duties to assigned staff.
• Resolving customer complaints and concerns.

• Evaluating, interpreting, and analyzing day-to-day operations; formulating effective, pro-active solutions to
identified problems.
• Interacting with people of all ages. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver’s license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision,
hearing, talking, use of foot controls. Drives Bookmobile.
