HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 880340• 1 : ► it �` .� ��' ,�) A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH DYNIX FOR AN AUTOMATED LIBRARY HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE SYSTEM FOR THE GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN SAME. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas constructed a new Public Library in 1987 with voter approved bond funds, and WHEREAS, a portion of these bond funds were dedicated for a purchase of an automated system; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown Public Library Board has received donations which they have committed to the purchase of an automated system; and WHEREAS, the Library Board and City Staff have solicited and reviewed Proposals from qualified vendors; and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the benefit of the automated system to its citizens who use the library and its services; and WHEREAS, the City finds that DYNIX, a library automation corporation, can provide an automated system; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Attorney and City Staff to negotiate a purchase contract with DYNIX for an automated library system for the Georgetown Public Library; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney and City Staff have negotiated a purchase contract with DYNIX in consultation with the Texas State Library Automation Consultant. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: Section I: The Council finds that the recitals set forth above are true and correct and are incorporated herein for all purposes. Section I1: The City Council approves the Purchase Agreement with DYNIX in the amount of $117,339 to purchase a library automation system for the Georgetown Public Library.
