HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 880230WOMIK01W A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY THAT THE CITY WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE PAYMENT OF HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION (HMO) HEALTH CARE PLAN COSTS FOR ALL OF ITS FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AT A COST NOT TOEXCEED THE AMOUNT OF SINGLE OR DEPENDENT CONVENTIONAL HEALTH CARE COVERAGE PREMIUMS. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetownj Texas hasa personnel policy to provide conven- tional health care coverage for employees and eligible dependents; and WHEREAS, -the -City of Georgetown by personnel policy pays for such conventional health care coverage as a -benefit to full-time employees; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown wishes toprovide,HM0 coverage as an optional health care*plan to the CityO8 full-time employees; and WHEREAS/ the City of Georgetown desires to establish a cost cap on its health care bene -fits to its employees; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS; SECTION I. That the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas finds that the recitals set forth above are true and correct and are incorporated herein. SECTION II. That the City Council hereby establishes as a personnel poli that the City.of Georgetown will participate in the payment of Health Maint nance Organization Health Care Plan costs for all its full-time employees at cost not to exceed the amount of single or dependent conventional health c coverage. I SECTION III. That any employee participating in the HMO plan will have the excess cost deducted by means of a payroll deduction. SECTION IV. That enrollment periods to the HMO will •- limited to an. employee's employment date and the annual anniversary date of the HMO contract. Passed and Approved this lz_fi� day o-1988.
