OF CITY OWNED LAND TO SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE
INSTRUMENTS OF CONVEYANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to sell 4.33 acres of City owned land
which is located in Georgetown Texas, and is bound by the I.O.O.F. Cemetery
to the northi Southwestern University to the south and westi and the
Southwestern University Golf Course to the east. The property is further
described as a tract of 4.33 acres of land out of Williamson Addison survey
and a part of that 20.32 acre "TRACT No. 1" described in a deed from the
Georgetown Lodge, No. 179 of the Independent order of odd Fellows to the C ty
of Georgetown, Texas, dated May 9, 1968, and recorded in Volume 508, Pg. 39
of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas;and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is no reasonable present or
future use for this property due to its location and physical features; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to sell this property-, and
WHEREAS, the City advertised such property for sale in accordance with
the law; and
WHEREAS, the City received one bid which was from Southwestern
University for Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($22,500.00) for the
purchase of the property" and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the appraised value of this
property is Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($22j,500-00) and further
finds that such amount constitutes the fair market value of the property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the bid by Southwestern for
its purchase of the property and authorize the Mayor to execute the earnest
money contract and appropriate instruments of title, NOW THEREFORE/
That the City Council authorizes the sale of 4.33 acres of property
described in the recitals above to Southwestern University for Twenty-two
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($22,500.00).
The Mayor is authorized to execute the sale of earnest money contract
and deed of conveyance on behalf of the City.

I , being the current City Secretary of the City of
Georgetown do hereby certify the above is a true and correct copy of a
resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetown and such
resolution was duly adopted at a meeting open to the public and notice
of said meeting, giving the date, place, and subject thereof, was
posted as prescribed by Article 6252-17, Section 3A, VATCS.
