A RESOLUTION COMMITTING FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
FROM HCITY OF GEORGETOWN,TO A STUDYOF
REGIONAL WASTEWATER COLLECTION i TREATMENT FOR
THE GEORGETOWN
area,WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas
wishes to conserve and protect the watersheds in the Georgetown
WHEREAS, _ watersheds in the Georgetown area are facizzt
development pressures n- - i the treatment and disposal

residents# property owners
expressed support for the development of regional wastewater system
to accommodate demand for wastewater treatment
_ capacity
protecting the usefulness of the waters in the Georgetown area; and
'4HEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas has received commitments
for financial assistance • the study of a regional system •
several entities, including private individuals; and
WHEREAS, a planning grant application for matching funds of
fifty-two thousand dollars for the study of regional wastewater
collection and treatment has been approved by the Texas Water
Development Board; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
THAT:
1) The City of Georgetown, Texas hereby commits, and assures to th
Texas Water Development Board, a sum of fifty"two thousan
dollars ($52,000) for the study of regional wastewater collectio
and treatment for the Georgetown area. Said study will develo
long range plans and implementationstrategies with emphasi
on _ environmental issues r- s to the EdwardsA+ -
Recharge Zone, the San Gabriel River and Granger Lake.
2) The proposed planning process will conform to the State Wate
Quality Management Plan and the 1120811 Brazos Basin Plan. A Wate
Conservation Plan will be developed for the City of Georgetown
Texas, in conjunction with the preparation of the study.
3) The.City of Georgetown, Texas will serve as the lead wate
quality planning agency upon concurrence by the Texas Wate
Commission and in cooperation with the Brazos River Authority.
