A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
ENDORSING A UTILITY ASSISTANCE FUND FOR CITY OF GEORGETOWN UTILITY
CUSTOMERS; AND AFFIRMING THE UTILITY BILL FORMAT TO FACILITATE THE FUND.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas believes
that the establishment of a utility assistance fund for eligible
customers will serve the interests of the City by assisting said persons
in payment of their City of Georgetown utility bill; and in so doing
will prevent unnecessary interruption in utility services:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS that:
1. The City Council endorses the implementation of the utility
assistance fund (referred to as the "Good Neighbor Fund") whereby
voluntary contributions are made available to assist eligible customers
with payment of their City of Georgetown utility bill; and
2. The Caring Place will provide centralized certification of
eligibility according to established criteria; and
3. The City Council affirms the utility bill format as shown in
the attached copy; and
4. The Good Neighbor Fund program will be reviewed by the Council
in six months.
