HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 8800157) 4/6, /CZJ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETO TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A TEXAS COMMMMUNI DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT I COMMUNITY AFFAIR5 FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND; AUTHORIZING THE' MAYOR PROTEM TO ACT AS THE CITYS EXECUTI OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPR PEESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTE RTO TICIPAON C TAINING THE CITY'S PARTIIN THE OMMKUNI DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has identified at least two community development needs in a principally low to moderate income neighborhood known locally as Old Southwest Town; and WHEREAS, the Old Southwest Town Revitalization Project will assist in meeting the identified needs with the following activities: 1. Street and Drainage II R' 2. Water and Sewer Line ImprovemenQ WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interest of the City of Georgetown to apply for funding under the 1987 Texas Community Development Program,* NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: 1. That a Texas Community Development Program application for the Community Development Fund is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City with the Texas Department of Community Affairs. 2. That the Mayor,Protem of Georgetown be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute the documents in conjunction with said application. 3. That the application be for $292,255.00 of grant funds to carry out street and drainage improvements. 4. That the City of Georgetown supports the proposed activities described above and will make a local commitment of $113,440.00 as follows - a. water line improvements - $28,200 from Water System Improvement Fund. b. sewer line improvements - $85,240 from Sewer System Improvement Fund. 5. The City will cover in total, all street seal -coating and administration costs incurred in the implementation of said project. READ, PASSED AND APPROVED this the 8th day of March, 1988.
