WHEREAS, t ` City Council• is on May 27, 1988, execute
contract with the consulting firm of Richardson vetdobtn, Inc. 4#
develop a geographic information system data base for the City;
WHEREAS, the City staff has recommended the purchase of a
geographic information system to manage the data base in-house;
WHEREAS, the consulting firm of Richardson Verdoorn, Inc. is
found to offer training on the geographic information system that
best meets needs of the and
PhysicalWHEREAS, the City Council finds that this action implements
Facilities and Services Policy 1; Finance Policy 1; Growth and
Development Policies and 5; Transportation r#, ,.....
and 2; and Utilities Policy 5 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Element, and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with
any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of

All of the facts recited in the preamble to this Resolution
are hereby found by the City Council to be true and correct, and
are incorporated by reference heroin and expressly made a part
hereof, as if copied verbatim.
CouncilThe City `sy authorizes staff to purchase
hardware and software as outlined in the City Council memorandum
dated # • _ 3, 1989, to include:
2) The purchase of the pcARC/INFO software marketed by
Environmental Systems Research Institute from Richardson
Vordoorn,Texas.

Section Three
1) The firm of Richardson Verdoorn, Inc. is hereby selected to
perform the task of training the Planning Department staff

Georgetown's GIS data base.
2) The staff is hereby authorized to negotiate a contract for
services not to exceed $10,000.00 for the performance of
this work.
3) The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said contract by
signature upon its approval by both the City Attorney and
the city Manager.
