` RESOLUTION:
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE GEORGETOWN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
BOARD'S RECOMMENDATION FOR THE CREATION OF A NEW
ORGANIZATION TO BE CALLED THE GEORGETOWN SPECIAL EVENTS
ASSOCIATION, A NON-PROFIT, INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION
TO ADMINISTER CERTAIN SPECIAL EVENTS IN GEORGETOWN; AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO INDICATE THIS ENDORSEMENT
THROUGH THIS DOCUMENT~
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Tourism Development Board has
recognized the need for an independent, non-profit organization
to administer and determine policy for certain special events in
Georgetown, in particular the HayFair-on-the-Square and Christmas
Stroll;
WHEREAS, the Tourism Board has set forth certain
recommendations toward the creation of this organization, to be
called the Georgetown Special Events Association;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
recognizes and endorses the recommendations of the Tourism Board
as set forth in the attached By -Laws and Articles of
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:

City Council does endorse the Georgetown
Tourism
Development
Board
s reccmmendation
for the creation
of a new,
independent,
non_prorit
organization to be called the
Georgetown
Special Events
Association,
and that this organization
will
administer
and
determine
policy for certain special
events in
Georgetown,
in
particular
the MayFair-op-the-Square and
Christmas
Stroll.
Section If.
That the Mayor is authorized to indicate this endorsement
through this document and the City Secretary to attest thereto.
