A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A FOREIGN -TRADE ZONE
AFFILIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND THE PORT OF
CORPUS CHRISTI AUTHORITY OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, TO ESTABLISH A
SUBZONE AFFILIATION AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Port of Corpus Christi Authority has previously applied for
and been awarded a Foreign -Trade Zone under the provisions of the Foregin-Trade
Zone Act of 1934, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the said Foreign -Trade Zone is now being designated as the Port of
Corpus Christi Foreign -Trade Zone No. 122; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds that it is in the community interest
and welfare to be a part of the Port of Corpus Christi Foreign -Trade Zone; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that being part of the Port of Corpus Christi
Foreign -Trade Zone will bolster the business climate throughout the City for the
purpose of creating new jobs, increasing business activity and the economic
climate in the City.
ROW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council finds that the recitals set forth above are true and correct
and are adopted herein verbatim as if fully set forth at length.
SECTION II.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the FTZ Affiliation Agreement between
the City and the Port of Corpus Christi Authority.
