RESOLUTION NO. b 6 1 7
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH LONGHORN
COMMUNITY DISPOSAL FOR LONGHORN TO PROVIDE CERTAIN
SOLID WASTE AND DISPOSAL SERVICES; AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME AND THE CITY SECRETARY
TO ATTEST THERETO.
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown, Texas wishes to contract
with a third party for certain solid waste collection and disposal
services which it currently provides directly to its customers; and
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown wishes to expand the solid
waste disposal and collection services it provides to its customers;
and
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown wishes to provide for an
exclusive contract to Longhorn Community Disposal (Longhorn) for the
collection and disposal of solid waste within the City; and
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown wishes to sell its equipment
currently being used for its solid waste collection and disposal
services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS;
Section I. All facts recited in the preamble to this resolution are
hereby found by the Council to be true and correct and are
incorporated herein by reference and expressly made a part hereby.
Section II. That the Council hereby approves the contract for
collection and disposal of solid waste with Longhorn Community
Disposal.
Section III. That the Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the
agreement and the City Secretary to attest thereto.
