ARESOLUTION SUPPORTNGTHEPARTICIPATIONBYTIM C1TYOF
GEORGETOWN WITH THE CAPITAL AREA PLANNING COMMISSION
IN ESTABLISHING A CENTRALIZED PUBLIC SAFETY ANSWERING
POINT FOR THE 9.11 EMERGENCY PHONE SYSTEM,
WHEREAS; the City of Georgetown is participating through the Capital Area Planning
Commission to establish u 94-1 Emergency Phone System; and
WHEREAS, the County and cities have been requested to execute a contract with
CAPCO to establish individual 9.1.1 Answering Palms; and
WHEREAS; such an effort would create a costly duplication of services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council adopts the recitals set forth above as true and correct and
adopted heroic verbatim as if fully set forth al length.
SECTION 2. The Staff of the City of``Georgetown is instructed to work with [he communities
and with CAPCO to insure that one cemnahzed answering points established for Williamson
County,
SECTION 3, The Mayor, through his office, is urged to work with the mayors of other
communities and elected officials of Williamson County to achieve the goal of one centralized
Public Safety Answering Point.
