WHEREAS, the Downtown Georgetown Association Teen Board is
composed of fifteen members from the junior and senior high schools
of Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, the Teen Board Members wish to learn more about the
function and purpose of municipal government; and
WHEREAS, the members desire a hands-on, training experience
to learn about different municipal jobs and municipal policies; and
WHEREAS, such training would encourage future citizen
development and involvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE-ITRESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The Council adopts, the recitals set forth above
as true and correct and are adopted Herein verbatim as if fully
set forth at length.
Section 2, That "Georgetown's Future Leadership Program" is
hereby established and dedicated for Friday, April 20, 1996.
Section 3, The positions of City Manager, City Secretary,
Director of Community Services, Director of Planning and
Development, Director of Finance and Administration, Director of
Fire Services, Director of Police Services, Director of Public
Utilities, Risk Manager, Tourism Director, Airport Manager, Library
Director, Superintendent of Public Services; Administrative
Services Supervisor, City Inspector, Purchasing Agent, Utility
Office Supervisor, Fire Marshall, Electrical Superintendent, Water
and Wastewater: Superintendent and Street Specialist are all
designated as potential positions to receive Teen Board Member
Assignees,
Section A. The Mock City Council Meeting will be conducted
on Fridayafternoon, April 20, 1990,covering thoseagenda items
which are scheduled for the regular City Council Meeting of April
29, 1990,
