HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 910509A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPROVE A WORK AUTHORIZATION AGREEMENT WITH THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR WORK RELATED TO INSTALLATION OF THE ELECTRICAL TELEMETRY SYSTEM, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is the major distributor of electrical utilities within its corporate limits; and WHEREAS, tl.,ie City Council finds that safe and efficient monitoring and distribution of electrical utilities is essential to the operation of the City's Public Utilities Division; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements the Utilities/Energy Policy 3 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The City will establish and maintain a Functional Plan 'for utilities that will create and maintain a posture that encourages and provides economic development in the City of Georgetown."; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION I The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. SECTION 2 The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto an agreement to authorize transmission engineering, related to installation of the electrical telemetry system project, with the Lower Colorado River Authority, on behalf of the City of Georgetown. SECTION 3 Funding for this project in the amount of $34,528.00 shall be deducted from the original contract amount with TIPS Inc., previously approved by Council 4-9- 91 for $114,000.00, from Electrical Capital Projects Account No. 16-30-00-5093.
