GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT

Y�THEREAS, the United States Government, the Criminal Justice Division of the
Governor 's Office, and the Capital Area Planning Council has approved funds for the 199 1 -
l9k fiscal year for continuation of existing grant programs;
WHEREAS, the Division of Police Services was the recipient of additional funds to
supplement existing funds for the purposes of combatting juvenile crime and delinquency
under a Juvenile Law Enforcement Officer grant;
WHEREAS, the first grant year period will end and a resolution is required for the
grant to continue for the second grant year;
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements the Educatio
Policy, "Encourage and cooperate with other entities to promote diverse and comprehensiv
educational opportunities "; Facilities and Services Policy, 'Increase the quality of life b
upgrading existing and providing new facilities and services "; Governmental Affairs Poli
1, '?ursue increased cooperation with all entities which provide services in the community
of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Elements;
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in
conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the
Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT

The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby
found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein a&i
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.

The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto
the Grantee Acceptance Notice with 2k CgAff4jAi�& gabAm4r&unCjl on behalf
of the City of Georgetown.

Whereas, the Governor of the State of Texas has approved the grant application as evidenced by the
Statement of Grant Award from the Governor's Office
which contained certain special requirements.

Standards, and special requirements as evidenced by the Statement of Grant Award,
