HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 910094KESOLUTION NO.- q10001,Td H WHEREAS, in 1988, the citizens of the City of Georgetown voted to convert Ci elections from an at -large system to seven single -member districts, with a Mayor elected at-larg], WHEREAS the City of Georgetown is required to review its voting district plan after receipt of the 1990 census data; Vy'HEREAS the City of Georgetown, in preparing a new single member district plan, - I W conduct a number of public hearings in order to receive community input into the redistrictil Mt WHEREAS coordination of the redistricting process by the City staff will be necessary in order to achieve a timely submission of a new proposal to the United States Department of Justice; WHEREAS the City Council has found that this action implements Governmental Aff 'I Policy 2 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and is not found to be inconsistent or conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrat, Chapter of the Policy Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01 GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are and declared IM be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein an a part hereof, as if copi verbatim.
