HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 9205400 in h-1 I I IWLVW411LN U) W a 01W 2 ILA MW WHEREAS, the Texas Water Commission (TWC) has requested proposals for local programs tv collect and recycle used automotive oil; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Means statement in the 1992/93 budget for the City to collect and recycle used automotive oil; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to participate in TWC funding for these programs; and, WHEREAS, the proposed project meets Goal 1/Objective IA of the CAPCO Regional Solid Waste Management Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council finds that this resolution implements Utilities/Energy Policy #2 of the Century Plan -Policy Plan Element, which states, "The City will establish Utility policies which take into consideration the needs of all citizens of the community and take necessary precautions tit 1,trevent harmful ecological impact on the environment"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2, The City certifies the following: A. That the City of Georgetown will comply with the provisions of the financial assistance program and the fiscal reimbursement and reporting requirements of the Texas Water Commission and the State of Texas; and, rt. That the funds will be used only for the purposes for which they are provided; and, C. That the proposed project is in compliance with and supports any adopted regional or local solid waste management plan applicable to the geographical area covered by the project. RESOLUTION Waste Oil Recycling Grant Page of 2 SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to sign the application for grant funds to the Texas Water Commission on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
