WHEREAS, the citizens of Georgetown have joined together in establishing Z
community -wide strategic plan known as the Century Plan, and .
WHEREAS, the citizens have identified the priority for an efficient transportati
network that ensures traffic safety and reduced traffic congestion-, and I
WHEREAS, citizens identified the diversification and expansion of the local economy
as a major priority; and
WHEREAS, the community has identified an urgent need for the installation of a
Frontage road on the north -bound lanes of Interstate 35 between State Highway 29 and Williams
It,rive (FM 2338), to improve traffic safety, to relieve traffic congestion in the area, to promo�e
the opportunity for the expansion of the tax base, and to create jobs for Georgetown citizens; ant

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown th
the Texas Department of Transportation is urged to approve the construction of the frontage roII
