GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN
AMENDMENT NUMBER 2 TO THE CONTRACT WITH THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 10, 199 1, the City Council authorized the Mayor to sign a contract
with the Texas Department of Transportation (I7xDOT) to construct a Park & Ride Facility from
funds received through this contract up to $125,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that constructing a Park & Ride Facility would
benefit the citizens of Georgetown who desire to carpool or use other means of public
transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into Amendment No. 2 of this contra]
(attached) with the Tx DOT which extends the effective date of the contract until August 3
1993; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Amendment No. 1 on August 13, 1991,
extend this contract until August 31, 1992 and, I
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the budgeting o this program in Account No.
44-11-00-5002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found
and declared to be true and correct, and are hereby incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements Development Plan Policy #15, which states, "The City will encourage a
transportation system that provides for safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the
economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the personal needs of individuals; ,
and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies as required
by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

The Mayor is authorized to execute and the City Secretary to attest thereto to Amendment
No. 2 of a contract, attached as Exhibit A, with the Texas Department of Transportation on
behalf of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
