HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 920247RESOLUTION No. a, RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO NAME THE SITE FOR THE NEW "CREATIVE PLAYSCAPE" AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME AND THE CITY SECRETARY TO ATTEST. WHEREAS, the City, in its Century Plan - Policy Plan, has found that the City shall encourage all citizens to actively participate in community -wide social, cultural, and recreational activities; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a community playscape raises "community spirit" by involvement in the project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a community playscape provides additional tourism draw to Georgetown. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1 The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof as if copied verbatim. The "City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Recreation and Cultural Affairs Policy I of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. Section 2 The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the City Secretar 0 te thereto to this resolution which authorizes the placement of thEy �Cr:tati Playscape" to be constructed at one of the following locations chosen by Counci #1. San Gabriel Park -- Sheriff's Posse Lease Site (behind the rodeo arena #2. Northeast corner of San Gabriel Park on Site A (located behind the Hi School Baseball Field on top of the knoll; and, RIvery Property on the North San Gabriel River next to IH 35 (the Board to receive the Rivet Corridors CbnceDtual master Plan from J. T. Dunkinim Associates on or about July 31, 1992).
