A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR PRO -TEM TO
SIGN AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE WILLIAMSON
COUNTY JUVENILE SERVICES TO PROVIDE A COORDINATOR FOR
THE GEORGETOWN TEEN COURT AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WIIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas has determined that the
establishment of a Teen Court would be beneficial to the youth of the City, both to the teen
defendants and to the teen volunteers, who will all learn more about the judicial process through
this program;
VIBEREAS, Williamson County Juvenile Services has agreed to provide a Teen Court
Coordinator, partially through existing programs and through an interlocal agreement with the

WIIEREAS, the Georgetown Independent School District and Williamson County are a st:
supportive of the establishment of a Teen Court in Georgetown-,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
action implements Education Policy 1 of the Century Plan, Policy Plan Element, which states:
"The City will encourage and cooperate with public and provate entities to promote diverse and
comprehersive educational opportunities", and Governmental Affairs Policy 2, which states: "The
City will encourage all citizens to actively participate in governmental functions"; and Facilities
and Services Policy 1, which states- "The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life
through the upgrading of existing facilities and services and the provision of new services to meet
the sepcific needs of the community", and the City Council further finds that this action is not
inconsisten with any other provision of the Century Plan, as required by the Administrative
Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest
thereto an interlocal agreement with Williamson County Juvenile Services related to the services

of a Teen Court Coordinator for the Georgetown Teen Court, on behalf of the City of
Georgetown.
RESOLVED this 24th day of March, 1992.
