A DUAL CERTIFIED WATER SERVICE AREA AND ESTABLISHNG AN
EFTECTIVE DATE.
VIBEREAS, the Jonah Water Supply Corporation has filed an application with the Tex
Water Commission to create a special utility district within certain areas of Williamson Count.
which will include areas certificated to the City of Georgetown Water Utility; and I
WIIEREAS, the City Council has no objection to dual certification with Jonah
Supply Corporation in these areas, provided that its citizens and customers are not burde
economically by additional taxes or fees from the Jonah Special Utility District; and I
WIREREAS, upon completion of infastructure improvements, by the City of Georgetown,
within these areas Jonah Special Utility District will relinquish all rights to service within those
areas upon receipt of fair compensation by the City of Georgetown; and
WIIEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Utilities/Energy
Policy 3 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The City will establish and
maintain a Functional Plan for utilities that will create and maintain a posture that encourages
and provides economic development in the City of Georgetown"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflifflum
with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapt
of the Policy Plan-, i
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE CITY COUNC11L OF THE CITY
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found a
declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made
part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto a M-
�igreement with Jonah Water Supply Corporation on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
