HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 930525-KRESOLUTION NO. q3o5z�� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION'S CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND THE CITY SECRETARY TO ATTEST WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is actively engaged in historic preservation through the publication of historic documents; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown desires to reprint copies of The Downtown Walking Tour brochure, Recuerdos Mexicanos, and Histories of Pride; and WHEREAS, financial assistance is available to complete this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS THAT: 9�•' The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found to be true and correct, and are hereby incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Historic Preservation and Urban Design Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The Citv will preserve, protect and promote its prehistoric, historic and cultural resources"; and has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other century Plan policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. MANN"lum The City Council hereby approves the grant and agrees to comply with all provisions of the grant contract including dedication of $500.00 in local match funds during Fiscal Year 1994. SECTION 3 The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to act in the City's behalf in all matters pertaining to this grant award.
