WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received funds from the Texas Department of Transportation
construct a Park & Ride Facility to encourage carpooling; and, i
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to place antique light standards on the Park & Ride Facility like the
mtique light standards around the Square; and,
AS, the cost of such light standards exceeds the cost of the funds allocated under the grant from the
Texas Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the Council authorizes the expenditure of General Fund Council Contingency Funds in an
• not to exceed $3,000.00 • this project;
1;• THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and
declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if
copied verbatim. The City Council finds that this resolution implements Historic Preservation and Urban Design
F!'olicy #2 of the Century Plan Policy Plan Element, which states, "The City will utilize an urban design program to:
improve the overall appearance of the City; develop a positive image that identifies Geo etown- and enhance the

attractiveness
• the City from an envirom-nental, aesthetic, and economic perspective"; and further finds that the
,!•1 • this resolution is not • or in conflict with any • Century Plan Policies, as required by
Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto, to this
resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
