Fff T0 M- 17-40NNTITIT MWIMIU�W WHEREAS, Texas ranks fourth in the nation behind New York, California, and Florida with the number of AIDS cases; and, WHEREAS, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the largest growth in reported HIV infections is among teenagers and women ages 14-24; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown and the Board of Trustees of the Georgetown Independent School District desires to raise the awareness of the HIV/AIDS problem through education programs for students and citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN� TEXAS, AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE GEORGETOWN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City and the President of the Board of Trustees are hereby authorized to si2n, and the City Secretary to attest thereto the declaration of March, 1993, as HIV/AIDS AWARENESS AND EDUCATION MONTH in the City of Georgetown and in the Georgetown independent School District.
