A RESOLUTTON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO BE THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE
TO SIGN AND SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION NATIONAL TREE
PLANTING PROGRAM, AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that planting of trees along thoroughfares and in
parks enhances the aesthetic appeal of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to submit an application to the Sm Business
Administration National Tree Planting Program; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIEL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:

The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found
to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly m e a part
hereof, as if copied verbatim.
Section 2
The City Council has found that this action implements Environmental and Resource
Conservation Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and is not found to be

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to act as the authorized representative for the
City to sign and submit a grant application to the Small Business Administration National Tree
Planting Program on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
