HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 941025-KIRMI)RIly # # IKII jr . -I Ito It i a WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received an Application for the Vacation of two five -foot -wide Public Utility Easements located along the common property lines of Lots 5 and 6, Erin Acres Subdivision, as recorded *in Cabmiet A, Slides 297-298 of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas; and WHEREAS, upon considering the Application and additional information pertaining to the Application, the City Council now finds that there are no utilities existing in the easements wd that the utility companies serving the area including and surrounding the easements have tetermined that &re exists no present or foreseeable need for the easements. NOW, I REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 'IUE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council finds that this action implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan: 1. Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states "The City will ensure that future land use patterns provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, businesses and organizations; and C. Utilities/Energy Policy 2, which states "The City will establish Utility policies which take into consideration the needs of all citizens of the community and take necessary precautions to prevent harmful ecological impact on the environment. " The City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Admimistrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Georgetown, a Quit Claim Deed abandoning the two five -foot -wide Public Utility Easements Erin Acres Resolution No. Page 1 of 2 located along the common property lines of Lots 5 and 6, Erin Acres Subdivision, as recorded in Cabinet A, Slides 297-298 of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and the City Secretary to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
