GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING NAMING THE CHURCH ON
THE CORNER OF CHURCH AND 9THSTREET "GRACE HERITAGE
CENTER" AT FOUNDERS MEMORIAL PARK AS A RESULT OF A
UNANIMOUS RECOMMENDATION BY THE PARKS & RECREATION
BOARD.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Parks & Recreation Board has recommended
that the land on the corner at Church and 9' Street be named "Grace Heritage Center" at
founders Mernonial Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action meets the criteria set out in M
Century Plan - Parks and Recreation Functional Plan for nammg a park/or facility (page 63
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Recreation a
Cultural Affairs Policy I of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states- "the Ci i,
shall encourage all citizens to actively parti i ate in community -wide social, cultural, a
cip
recreational activities". and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict
with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter
of the Policy Plan;

The Parks & Recreation Division is authorized to name the Church on the comer of
Church and 9' Streets to "Grace Heritage Center" at Founders Memorial Park.
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
