WHEREAS, the City, in its Century Plan -Parks and Recreation Plan, Policy 1, A-2 states
that "The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the upgrading of existing
facilities and services and the provision of new services to meet the specific needs of the
community."; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the appropriate location for the Recreation Center
is on the corner of Austin Avenue and Stadium Drive next to the Creative Playscape area; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the function elements for the recreation center are
appropriate for such a facility and that as many function elements as possible should be provided
with the money provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT -
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resoulution implements Recreation and Cultural Affairs Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy
Plan Element, and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in
conflict with any other Century plan policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative
Chapter of the Policy Plan.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the City Secreatary to attest
thereto to this resoultion which autorizes the placement of the "Recreation Center" to be at the
comer of Austin Avenue and Stadium Drive next to the Creative Playscape area.
