The Georgetown City Council met in Regular Session on the above date with Mayor Pro -Tem Ferd
Tonn presiding.
Regular Session - Called to order at 5:44 p.m.
A Mayor, Council, City Manager, and staff comments and reports
There were no comments.
B Citizens wishing to address the Council
Keith Peshak, 800 Oak Crest Lane, placed copies of supoenaes on the Council dais for City
employees to appear at his jury trial on June 14. He spoke about a variety of issues involving
various City staff.
Legislative Regular Agenda
C Consideration of appointment of a canv assing team of councilmembers to canvass the results
of the May 29, 1999 General Runoff Election -- Mayor Pro Tem Ferd Tonn
Tonn appointed Councilmembers Bain, Barton, and Valdez, who left the Council Chamber
at 5:47 p.m. to canvass the results of the Runoff Election. Upon their return at 5:56 p.m.
Bain stated that the Canvass Committee approved the results.
D Consideration of approval of an ordinance canvas sing the votes for the May 29, 1999 General
Runoff Election and declaring the election results to be official --Emergency Reading --
Sandra Lee
Lee read the ordinance. Motion by Lyda, second by Bain to approve Ordinance No. 99-34.
Approved 7-0.
E Swearing in of Mayor -- Sandra Lee
New Mayor, MaryEllen Kersch, was sworn in by Attorney at Law Christina Peterson.
F Comments by incoming Mayor
Mayor Kersch thanked her supporters and pledged to work together with the Council to keep
Georgetown great.
