HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 950912-T7- - RESOLUTION NO. 7D07/02-7- WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown encourages a transportation system th"' Jfor the safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the economic intere if the community, and adequately serves the personal needs of individuals, M WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has contracted with the Texas Department of Transportation to widen the bridge on Highway 29; WHEREAS, the State of Texas requires additional property belonging to the Ci to widen the bridge on Highway 29; 1 WHEREAS, the City Council, has found it in the best interest of the City to donate this property to the Texas Department of Transportation-, WHEREAS, the City Council, after hearing the request and finding the specific facts as stated above, now concludes that the property as noted above should be conveyed to the Texas Department of Transportation: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAE CITT #F GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Transportation Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states: "The City will encourage a transportation system that provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the personal needs of individuals"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute two deeds on behalf of the City of Georgetown conveying .082'acres and .070 acres out of Clement Stubblefield Survey Abstract No. 558 in Williamson County, Texas also being part of Outlot 8, DiVisib� D, City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and being more fully Highway 29 Bridge Widening Resolution No. 1?670 17 io? — 7— Page 1 of 2 0=2 OMM0011619VANURM03511IMM SECTION 3.
