WHEREAS, in June 1994, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, seriM

WHEREAS, in August 1995, the City of Leander is still seeking to resolve its loni

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C111
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resoluti
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by referen
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council here

finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Poli
I
Plan Element:
Utilities and Energy Policy 1,
"The City will provide water, wastewater, electricity, and solid waste collection servic
which meet the immediate and future needs of all citizens and which encourages a
provides for economic development,
Finance Policy 1:
"The City will conduct all municipal operations in an efficient business -like manner"; and
Environmental and Resource Conservation Policy I -
"The City will develop a water resources system that provides a sufficient water supp
of high quality to meet future City needs, economic development and recreation -I
requirements, and to conserve wildlife".
The City Council further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or
conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of t
Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

to be necessary. The Georgetown City Council has requested that the City st
negotiate the terms of the regional water agreement with the Leander officials on•
before October 15, 1995, and to bring this agreement to the Georgetown City C ound I f•
its consideration upon approval of the form of the agreement by the City Attorney.
The terms of this agreement shall include the following concepts:
1. Be a partnership as opposed to a wholesale contract;
2. Will enable the City of Georgetown to serve the western portion of the CCN;
41. Will not cause a rate increase to Georgetown utility customers.
4. Will not negatively impact the present or future water supply for Georgetown
utility customers;
5. The City of Leander will pay for its share of infrastructure requre•for
service and all operation and maintenance costs.
